Minqi lǎoshī creates an incredibly interactive and fun learning environment. The pace is perfect, and her constant encouragement makes Mandarin fun to master. My most vivid memory is struggling with tricky pronunciation in a practical dialogue. My tones were all over the place, but Minqi lǎoshī was patient and supportive, guiding us with passion. Learning Mandarin has enriched my daily life, helping me understand basic conversations, enjoy Mandarin songs, and giving me a reason to travel to China to practice. Learning Mandarin has been fun and meaningful, and I am grateful to Minqi lǎoshī for making each class engaging. Thank you, Minqi lǎoshī, for your patience and inspiring passion, I really look forward to every lesson.

Minqi lǎoshī’s class is very interactive and fun, making learning enjoyable. She is friendly, patient, and always encourages us to speak without fear of mistakes. I remember making funny mistakes while speaking, which helped me learn and gain confidence, and learning together with classmates made it more memorable. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple daily conversations, communicate better with Mandarin-speaking friends, and feel more confident when hearing Mandarin in public or seeing Chinese signs. It’s challenging but very rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress, which motivates me to continue improving. Thanks, Minqi lǎoshī, for being patient, supportive, and encouraging—you made learning Mandarin fun and interesting, and I truly appreciate your guidance.

I’m happy to learn new things with such a great laoshi, Ain Laoshi, and I always loved it when laoshi picked my name to read in class as it gave me the chance to practice my pronunciation. As a retiree, I enjoy learning Mandarin to spend my time meaningfully, and now I can even understand what the hero in Chinese dramas is saying 😁 Learning Mandarin can be quite challenging, but it’s also fun because I can use many things around me as learning tools. Thank you Ain Laoshi, you are really helpful and you make things look simple and easy.

The wow factors of my Mandarin class are the engaging and interactive teaching methods. Minqi Laoshi uses fun activities, like asking each student to answer questions in Mandarin and encouraging us to explain our understanding. The lessons are very structured and easy to follow, and she always shares interesting cultural facts, which makes the class exciting and motivating. One of my most memorable experiences was speaking entirely in Mandarin for the first time in class. I was nervous, but answering correctly made me feel proud and confident, showing me my progress. Taking the HSK exam for the first time was also unforgettable; after years without exams, I was nervous, but I passed with flying colours. I can now understand simple Mandarin and have basic conversations with my Chinese friends, and even get discounts at Chinese shops when they notice I can speak a little Mandarin. Mandarin has become one of my favourite languages besides English. As a child, I dreamed of speaking it fluently, and now that dream is almost coming true, which keeps me excited to continue learning. Minqi Laoshi has become my favourite teacher after Cloris Laoshi. She makes lessons fun, understandable, and always supports us patiently every week. Thank you, Minqi Laoshi!

Minqi Laoshi fosters a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. Her dedication shows in the way she personally corrects my pronunciation via WhatsApp recordings, helping me learn with confidence and accuracy. One of my most memorable experiences was sitting for an exam alongside much younger students. Even though we were at different stages of life, the nervousness felt just like my university days. I picked up Mandarin as a way to stay busy, reading and learning new words, and it also makes it easier to connect with my Chinese friends, even though I still have a long way to go. Learning Mandarin isn’t easy, but it’s very rewarding. I learn new words and sentences each week, and I’m excited for the day I can understand and speak it well, making conversations much more fun. Thank you, Minqi Laoshi, for being patient and encouraging. Your passion for Mandarin and dedication to your students make learning enjoyable and motivating, and I truly appreciate the confidence you help me build in every lesson.

My Mandarin class with Ika lǎoshī is super fun and lively, she makes every lesson something to look forward to! She is friendly and always encourages us to speak up, even when we make mistakes, which makes learning feel easy. My most interesting memory was doing a role-play as buyers and sellers at the end of class; everyone, including Ika lǎoshī, had a great time. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple Chinese characters and conversations, and speak more with my Chinese friends. It’s been fun, exciting, and rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress. Thank you so much, Ika lǎoshī, for your patience, encouragement, and friendly guidance—you’ve made every lesson interesting and interactive, and given me the confidence to keep practicing and improving. Learning Mandarin can be quite difficult, but Izzati Laoshi turns every lesson into an adventure with engaging conversation practices that keep us excited to learn. One of my most interesting memories was completing an assignment where I had to find a Chinese friend and even bargain in Mandarin, which was a fun and practical way to build my confidence. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand basic conversations, and I can now speak a bit with my friend. Although it can be challenging, I’m really enjoying the journey and looking forward to learning more in the next level (Hanzi Class). Thank you, Izzati Laoshi, for always going above and beyond to make this learning journey unforgettable. From CIC to Level D, I’ve had the privilege of learning with you, and while all the laoshi at Kunkwan are amazing, I truly hope to continue learning with you in the next level.

I knew nothing about Mandarin at first, and I realized self-learning wasn’t enough. I needed a proper platform, which is how I found Kunkwan. I got to meet new friends from various backgrounds and laoshi who are very helpful and supportive. Learning Mandarin at Kunkwan is really fun. One of my most interesting experiences was an assignment that required speaking with a Chinese friend. I felt shy at first, afraid of making mistakes in pronunciation, but my friends were very helpful, correcting me like native speakers and teaching me new vocabulary useful for real-life conversations. I think Mandarin is very important, as China and Malaysia are trading partners, so learning it helps me understand conversations better in both business and personal contexts. It also helps me enjoy my favourite Mandarin songs more easily. I feel grateful to be part of the Kunkwan community and always look forward to the next class. A special thank you to Minqi Laoshi for being so supportive and helpful throughout my journey. I hope to keep improving my Mandarin!
