Classes with Bunga lǎoshī were enjoyable and fun! We were asked to participate in questioning and answering, making every class truly interactive. In the tourism field, communication skills are important, and learning Mandarin has made me more confident to communicate. Mandarin is known to be difficult, and miscommunication often happens, but learning it has helped me break down communication barriers and better understand how Mandarin speakers communicate. It’s such an honour to have Bunga lǎoshī as our Level A teacher. She is kind, patient, understanding, and supportive, making sure students were not intimidated by the complexity of the language. I will forever remember her as the person who made me fall in love with HànYǔ!

I really enjoyed the systematic learning with Ain Laoshi’s clear teaching methods. The role-playing activities, like acting as a seller, made learning fun and practical. I’ve even started to enjoy Mandarin songs! Although learning Mandarin can be challenging, it’s definitely worth it. Thank you, Ain Laoshi, for understanding my tight schedule and being patient when I was almost late with my gongke.

I’m happy to learn new things with such a great laoshi, Ain Laoshi, and I always loved it when laoshi picked my name to read in class as it gave me the chance to practice my pronunciation. As a retiree, I enjoy learning Mandarin to spend my time meaningfully, and now I can even understand what the hero in Chinese dramas is saying 😁 Learning Mandarin can be quite challenging, but it’s also fun because I can use many things around me as learning tools. Thank you Ain Laoshi, you are really helpful and you make things look simple and easy.

The class with Minqi Laoshi is always lively and full of energy. We practice real-life conversations and role-plays, and she’s always willing to answer any questions. She knows exactly how to engage students and creates an atmosphere where there’s never a dull moment. One of my most memorable experiences was role-playing as buyers and sellers in class. It was both funny and challenging because I had to prepare a full conversation in Mandarin and really get into the character. I even used props to make it feel more real. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations and feel like part of a team, which is important in our line of work. It also boosted my confidence, and I’m proud that I can now understand what my colleagues are saying. Learning Mandarin has been exciting and rewarding, and I never thought I could learn a new language at my age, but with effort, nothing is impossible. I feel motivated to continue learning and hope that someday I can converse as fluently as a native speaker. Thank you, Minqi Laoshi, for making the class fun, interesting, and enjoyable. Your sincerity in helping us is truly appreciated, and I wish this class would never end.

Minqi lǎoshī’s class is very interactive and fun, making learning enjoyable. She is friendly, patient, and always encourages us to speak without fear of mistakes. I remember making funny mistakes while speaking, which helped me learn and gain confidence, and learning together with classmates made it more memorable. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple daily conversations, communicate better with Mandarin-speaking friends, and feel more confident when hearing Mandarin in public or seeing Chinese signs. It’s challenging but very rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress, which motivates me to continue improving. Thanks, Minqi lǎoshī, for being patient, supportive, and encouraging—you made learning Mandarin fun and interesting, and I truly appreciate your guidance.

I like that Ain lǎoshī always entertains my questions outside class hours, even on her day off, and responds with great explanations. For homework, I interviewed Chinese friends in Mandarin, and I also understand more while watching Chinese dramas. I feel proud of myself, doing something meaningful as I’m retired. I like the way Ain lǎoshī communicates with students—she explains until we understand. Keep it up, laoshi. Love you!

Initially, I didn’t know what to expect, and thought online classrooms might feel quiet, but thanks to friendly Ika lǎoshī, we quickly opened up. The teaching pace was just right, and we had so much fun in the bargaining role-play. Even when I forgot a line, I could improvise, and Ika lǎoshī was patient and supportive. I can understand simple conversations if spoken slowly, and I hope to keep improving, maybe by watching Chinese dramas or taking the HSK 1 exam. Learning Mandarin can be difficult, especially online, but Ika lǎoshī makes it fun and encourages us to enjoy the process despite pronunciation or grammar mistakes. Thank you, Ika lǎoshī, for your patience and support!

Our Mandarin class is fun and interactive, with Bunga Lǎoshī providing constant support and encouragement. Her lessons focus on real-life situations, so we can apply what we learn immediately. My most memorable moment was making a buyer-seller presentation. Bunga Lǎoshī made it easy to follow, and I laughed a lot at my funny mistakes. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations, communicate with friends, and even improve my memory and focus. Each lesson feels meaningful and rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress. Xiexie Bunga Lǎoshī for making every class fun and easy to understand. Learning Mandarin with MinQi Laoshi has been interactive, fun, and very supportive. Role-playing as a buyer or seller, making funny mistakes, and learning grammar, along with making new friends, made the classes enjoyable. I can now understand simple conversations outside class and talk with my Mandarin-speaking friends and even my boss, which also helps in my career. I feel grateful, proud, and motivated to continue learning. Dear MinQi Laoshi, thank you for being patient and supportive, and for making learning Mandarin fun and enjoyable. I hope to keep improving and speak more fluently in the future!

Agnes Laoshi was very enthusiastic and always gave students opportunities to speak, gently correcting us in a soft and easy tone. She makes sure everyone understands the meaning and never teaches too fast. One memorable moment was learning the word “nǚ’ér” (daughter). She patiently corrected me because saying it wrong would change the meaning completely! We also tried singing the Rasa Sayang song using numbers, which was hilarious since we were out of tune, but thankfully we got it right in the end. I’m able to understand simple Mandarin conversations when speakers talk slowly, which is amazing for me as a CIC level student since I rarely get to speak Mandarin every day. I’m proud of my progress, now I can relate some words I learned while watching dramas, even if I sometimes struggle with tones. Agnes Laoshi, xie xie nin for everything from start to finish. You always give students the chance to try, stay patient, and keep the class motivated, even when the energy is low at first. Thanks to you, the class always ends up lively and fun!

I love how the module is arranged at a pace I can follow. Even with a busy work week, I can slot in this once-a-week 2-hour class, which makes me very happy. My first assignment with a native Mandarin speaker in Level A was memorable. I asked a colleague to be my partner, and she said my pronunciation was surprisingly good! I’m still a beginner and cannot speak or understand Mandarin fully yet, but I believe I’ll be able to once I complete the course. Learning Mandarin has opened me up to a new world and made me appreciate why Chinese speakers sometimes make mistakes in Malay. I now feel encouraged to make mistakes in Mandarin too as part of learning. Thank you, Ika lǎoshī, for being very supportive, keeping the class fun and engaging, and being a role model for me to become a good Mandarin speaker.

Supportive lǎoshī . Fatimah lǎoshī is always there to answer my questions, and both she and Angel Yeeling are super supportive, correcting me whenever needed. I really enjoy Gōngkè time and the role-playing exercises, they help me remember things easily. I can now understand simple questions, and although I’m still at an early stage, learning Mandarin helps me start understanding my clients and other Mandarin speakers. It is challenging, but with the support of laoshimen and classmates, I’m proud that I can construct simple sentences now. I would like to thank Fatimah lǎoshī and Angel Yeeling for their guidance, and Kent lǎoshī as well. Feichangganxie Fatimah lǎoshī and Angel Yeeling, and sorry for asking questions late sometimes, you always reply with clear explanations!
