I like that Ain lǎoshī always entertains my questions outside class hours, even on her day off, and responds with great explanations. For homework, I interviewed Chinese friends in Mandarin, and I also understand more while watching Chinese dramas. I feel proud of myself, doing something meaningful as I’m retired. I like the way Ain lǎoshī communicates with students—she explains until we understand. Keep it up, laoshi. Love you!

The Mandarin class has clear and easy-to-understand pronunciation, which makes learning much smoother. The lessons are interactive, fun, and include real-life scenarios that help us apply what we’ve learned. The friendly laoshi and supportive classmates also create a very positive and encouraging environment. One of my favourite experiences was making new friends along this journey, supporting each other through challenges, and even taking the HSK exam together, which was a big moment for us. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations in daily life, whether through watching Chinese dramas, reading signs, or hearing people speak, and it feels great to recognize words and use them with confidence. I feel proud of my progress so far, and even though it hasn’t always been easy, it keeps me motivated to continue improving step by step. Our Mandarin class is full of energy and interaction, making learning both fun and effective. Bunga lǎoshī is very supportive and creates a comfortable environment where everyone feels confident to speak and make mistakes. One interesting memory was when we played a vocabulary game in class. Everyone became super competitive, and the classroom was full of laughter, making recalling new words exciting and easier. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations, communicate better with friends, and enjoy Chinese dramas and songs more. Overall, learning Mandarin has been challenging but rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress and motivated to keep learning. I really enjoyed learning Mandarin with Ain Laoshi. She is friendly and kind, and I learn new words every day. I get to practise speaking Mandarin in class, often doing assignments with classmates. I can now understand a little when Chinese people speak and even enjoy listening to Chinese music. Learning is fun, and I love it! I’ve got a very supportive and friendly Izzati Laoshi, and I can follow her teaching pace, which helps me understand and apply all the knowledge to complete my gongke. I can even use Mandarin in real life for small conversations with my friends. After finishing the CIC class, I can watch Chinese dramas and understand a little of the dialogue, which makes me excited to learn more. Learning Mandarin has improved my memory and focus, and even helped me heal from anxiety and MDD, as I took this class to improve myself and train my focus. It also helped me build confidence to have conversations with my Chindian friends. Overall, the journey has been meaningful, motivating, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. I really appreciate how Izzati Laoshi constantly checks our understanding throughout the class, corrects our pronunciation, and reminds us about tones while guiding us step by step. She always encourages us to construct sentences and gently corrects us, which helps reinforce grammar in a very supportive way. As an older learner, I used to be afraid of making mistakes, but KunKwan provides a safe and comfortable environment to learn from them. Even though the classes are online, they are still very interactive and engaging. The learning experience also reminds me of my Nihongo days, especially when memorizing characters, and I find it fun how Hanzi is taught in a more visual and engaging way. One of my most memorable experiences was completing an assignment where I had to interview a stranger, which turned out to be both challenging and rewarding. Learning Mandarin has helped me in daily situations like shopping or visiting the hospital, and I now enjoy understanding signages and picking up conversations around me, even though people speak very fast! Overall, learning Mandarin has been meaningful as it allows better connection and understanding with others in Malaysia. I’m also very grateful for KunKwan’s flexibility and support, especially during difficult times, and truly appreciate the dedicated teachers like Izzati Laoshi who make this journey so worthwhile.

I love the way Agnes Laoshi explains the lessons, everything is easy to understand. I managed to count from 1 to 10 in Chinese and memorized it. Since I meet a lot of Chinese speakers at work, learning Mandarin has become really important for me. I love the class and hope to become fluent in both conversation and writing. I also wish Agnes Laoshi could continue teaching me in the next level class!

The wow factor of the Mandarin class is that it can be done online and based on our own timing, so we don’t have to go to the centre and can choose a schedule that works for us. One of my most interesting experiences was taking the HSK 1 for the first time. Even with the mock exam during class, experiencing the real exam in Mandarin was quite memorable. I’m now able to understand some words in sentences spoken by my friends and connect the dots even if I only understand a few words, which motivates me to keep learning harder. I’m proud and grateful for the opportunity to learn from experienced teachers and apply my skills outside class, like understanding Chinese dramas. Xiexie laoshimen for teaching me from CIC level to Level D, and a special thank you to Bunga Laoshi! With your hard work, I’ve been able to learn Chinese on my own and deepen my understanding of the language.

I really enjoy the class because my laoshi is very friendly and supportive. I also like that I can interact with other students and make new friends along the way. My Mandarin class with Izzati lǎoshī is interactive and fun, making learning enjoyable and less stressful. She is friendly, supportive, and always encourages us to speak with confidence, especially during the 5-minute practice breaks. I love learning real-life phrases that I can use in daily conversations, and the teaching pace is comfortable for beginners. My most memorable moment was taking my first HSK1 exam and getting full marks, even though I started learning Mandarin at 40 with no background, it gave me a lot of confidence and motivated me to continue.
