One of my most memorable experiences was preparing for the role play assignment and performing it, along with the funny mistakes I made throughout the classes. Bunga Laoshi is very patient and always engages with every student in class. The syllabus is full of useful information, and it really helps to practice through homework. Learning Mandarin has been helpful for me as I can now understand my work colleagues when they speak simple sentences. One of the challenges is finding someone to practice with, so I usually plan earlier with my partner, and I feel more confident taking exams when I’m well prepared. I can understand simple questions and replies, and I also make an effort to improve my listening skills by following Mandarin content and listening to Chinese songs to learn pronunciation. As I progress through the levels, I feel a strong sense of achievement, even though it gets more challenging and requires more effort and focus. I’m also thankful to be learning at Kunkwan because of the rich resources and fun events they organise. I got to meet new friends from various backgrounds and laoshi who are very helpful and supportive. Learning Mandarin at Kunkwan is really fun.
