Learning Mandarin can be quite difficult, but Izzati Laoshi turns every lesson into an adventure with engaging conversation practices that keep us excited to learn. One of my most interesting memories was completing an assignment where I had to find a Chinese friend and even bargain in Mandarin, which was a fun and practical way to build my confidence. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand basic conversations, and I can now speak a bit with my friend. Although it can be challenging, I’m really enjoying the journey and looking forward to learning more in the next level (Hanzi Class). Thank you, Izzati Laoshi, for always going above and beyond to make this learning journey unforgettable. From CIC to Level D, I’ve had the privilege of learning with you, and while all the laoshi at Kunkwan are amazing, I truly hope to continue learning with you in the next level.

I really enjoy the class because my laoshi is very friendly and supportive. I also like that I can interact with other students and make new friends along the way. Learning Mandarin has helped me in my career, especially when communicating with patients. The classes are always exciting and motivating, and I look forward to improving even more. Classes with Bunga lǎoshī were enjoyable and fun! We were asked to participate in questioning and answering, making every class truly interactive. In the tourism field, communication skills are important, and learning Mandarin has made me more confident to communicate. Mandarin is known to be difficult, and miscommunication often happens, but learning it has helped me break down communication barriers and better understand how Mandarin speakers communicate. It’s such an honour to have Bunga lǎoshī as our Level A teacher. She is kind, patient, understanding, and supportive, making sure students were not intimidated by the complexity of the language. I will forever remember her as the person who made me fall in love with HànYǔ!

The course module is very well-developed, and Ain Laoshi is attentive, patient, and very knowledgeable. Taking the HSK exam and doing role-playing as buyer and seller were some of the most memorable experiences, along with meeting new friends. I’m now more confident speaking Mandarin daily and can interact with my customers, understanding what they say. Learning has been fun, motivating, and I can see my progress. Thank you, Ain Laoshi, for all your teachings that have made me confident and comfortable speaking Chinese!

I really enjoy learning with Agnes Laoshi because of her teaching methods and the non-judgemental classmates. I joined every Wednesday class and can now understand simple conversations. I thought learning Mandarin would be stressful, but the class with Minqi Laoshi turned out to be really fun and engaging. The role plays and interactive approach made it easier to understand the concepts instead of just memorising, and she made sure everyone followed along, which really helped. The role-playing sessions were my favourite, acting out real-life scenarios helped me practise naturally and remember how to use the right sentence structures in context. Passing my HSK1 exam gave me confidence that I can continue learning, and it also helps me appreciate different cultures more deeply. I can now start basic conversations with Mandarin speakers around me. I feel excited and motivated, even though Mandarin isn’t easy, I enjoy the challenge. Understanding how the grammar works instead of just memorising makes me feel like I’m building a solid foundation to go further. Learning alongside classmates from different backgrounds made every class interesting and supportive. I’m very grateful to Minqi Laoshi for always making the lessons clear and enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to continuing my Mandarin journey.

I love how Ain lǎoshī handles the class in a fun and structured way, with a clear voice, always smiling, friendly, and using simple sentences that are easy to understand. Memorising the Self Introduction assignment helped me remember the dialogue and speak confidently in front of others. I can now say a few sentences in Mandarin and understand a bit when people speak it. The class is fun and challenging, and for the next level, I’ll definitely enroll in Ain lǎoshī’s class again because of the happy and friendly environment and her excellent Mandarin skills.

Learning with Bunga Laoshi has been very fun. She engages with every student and patiently corrects our mistakes. I’ve got a very supportive and friendly Izzati Laoshi, and I can follow her teaching pace, which helps me understand and apply all the knowledge to complete my gongke. I can even use Mandarin in real life for small conversations with my friends. After finishing the CIC class, I can watch Chinese dramas and understand a little of the dialogue, which makes me excited to learn more. Learning Mandarin has improved my memory and focus, and even helped me heal from anxiety and MDD, as I took this class to improve myself and train my focus. It also helped me build confidence to have conversations with my Chindian friends. Overall, the journey has been meaningful, motivating, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.
